John’s Vision

What comes next

The first phase of John’s commitment was about building a stronger foundation. The next phase is about what we do with it. Our next chapter begins now.

Four Priorities

Building on a stronger foundation

PCI 85 is an accomplishment. It is not a finish line. Here is what John will continue working toward in a second term.

01 — Fiscal Discipline

Keep San Gabriel financially strong

John will continue protecting our reserves, supporting responsible budgets, maintaining fiscal discipline, and making sure taxpayer dollars are invested wisely.

Fiscal responsibility is not about spending less simply for the sake of spending less.

It is about setting priorities, preparing for uncertainty, investing wisely, and making sure the decisions we make today do not become burdens for the next generation.

02 — Public Safety

Keep public safety first

John will continue supporting our Police and Fire Departments with the staffing, equipment, training, technology, and resources they need to keep San Gabriel safe.

A key priority for the future is advancing a new police station designed to accommodate expanded staffing, modern public safety operations, and stronger community services. As San Gabriel’s population and business community continue to grow, our public safety infrastructure must grow with them.

Our city may grow, but the level of safety our residents expect should never be compromised.

John will work to ensure San Gabriel is prepared for the future, with the facilities, personnel, and resources necessary to protect every neighborhood, family, and business for generations to come.

03 — Infrastructure

Continue improving our infrastructure

John will continue advocating for street improvements, fiber-optic modernization, traffic systems, parks, recreation, public facilities, and community spaces.

Infrastructure is ultimately about more than concrete, asphalt, and technology. It is about quality of life. And the decisions we make today will shape that quality of life for decades.

04 — Economic Growth

Support small businesses & economic growth

Our local businesses are part of the backbone of San Gabriel. John will continue advocating for a business-friendly environment that helps existing businesses succeed, welcomes responsible investment, encourages entrepreneurship, creates opportunities, and strengthens our local economy.

John wants people to come to San Gabriel not only to dine and shop, but to invest, visit, experience our history and culture, and discover why this community is such an extraordinary place to build a future.

05 — Housing Opportunities

Expand Housing Opportunities

John will support responsible housing policies that expand supply, improve affordability, and create more opportunities for working families, young people, and seniors to continue calling San Gabriel home.

As housing costs continue to rise, San Gabriel must plan thoughtfully for the future by encouraging appropriate housing development while protecting the character, infrastructure, and quality of life of our neighborhoods.

A strong community should be a place where the next generation can afford to build their future.

John will work to expand attainable housing opportunities, support pathways to homeownership, and ensure that future housing growth is responsible, balanced, and supported by the infrastructure and public services our community needs.

Ready for 2028

And ready for what comes after

The 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games will bring the world to Los Angeles and create extraordinary opportunities throughout the San Gabriel Valley. San Gabriel must be ready.

We should position our restaurants, businesses, hotels, cultural attractions, and historic destinations to benefit from increased tourism and international attention. We should use our international relationships and extraordinary cultural diversity to introduce San Gabriel to visitors from around the world.

But 2028 is not our destination. It is a milestone.

Preserving Our History. Connecting Our Communities.

Progress should never require us to forget who we are

San Gabriel is one of California’s most historic communities.

As our city grows and modernizes, John will continue working to preserve the history, traditions, architecture, culture, and identity that make San Gabriel unique.

Preserving our past and embracing our future are not competing ideas. They are part of the same responsibility.

At the same time, our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. John wants to continue building bridges among the many communities that call San Gabriel home, creating greater communication and understanding across cultures and generations.

He also wants to expand cultural dialogue and relationships with indigenous communities and other regions, respecting the histories that came before us while creating stronger relationships for the future.

The Next Chapter

The foundation is stronger. The direction is clear. And I am ready to continue the work.
